Introduction and Performance

Meizu, the Chinese smartphone company, is all set to launch its new flagship phone, Meizu 16s by the end of 2018 or early 2019. This phone is the successor of the Meizu 16. The Meizu 16S price range is expected to be slightly higher than its predecessor. Although, the phone might sport a similar design to 16th.

The phone is going to be launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset aka Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 Soc, with three-clusters GPU, making it the first phone to run on this processor. The core cluster is similar to Hisilicon Kirin 980 chipset and Exynos 9820 processor. Also, it ships with the Snapdragon X24 4G LTE based (2GBps) modem.

Camera and Storage

Meizu smartphones are well known for their fantastic camera quality. And, keeping up with that image, Meizu 16S, sports an impressive 12MP + 20MP dual camera on the rear. And on the front is a single 20MP selfie camera.

The phone comes in two storage variants- 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The memory size is not expandable, as the phone does not come with a memory card slot.

Battery and Display

The phone comes equipped with a non-removable battery which supports fast charging, but the size of the battery has not been revealed by the company yet. Moving on to the display, the phone will have a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED display screen, resolution of 1080 * 2340 pixels and 403 PPI, and will have an on-screen fingerprint sensor.

Connectivity and Platform

A host of connectivity options are going to be available in the phone like 3G, 4G LTE, Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, etc. Also, it is going to be a dual-sim phone. Meizu 16S is expected to be launched with the latest Android Pie 9 version.
