K6 Power: The Do-It-All Phone
The specs and features of Lenovo K6 Power are difficult to find in most budget smartphones in India.
• The Build
The overall build of the mobile is pretty neat, and unlike most of the other phones in this range which uses polycarbonate shell, K6 Power has a metal body.
• The Display and Screen
The mobile has 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which supports multi-touch of up to 5 fingers. The display has a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution in 16:9 ratio and pixel density of ~441 PPI. Brightness is impressive, and the colours are very punchy. Sunlight legibility and viewing angles are pretty decent too.
• The Camera
The phone features a 13MP rear camera that has a Sony IMX258 sensor, LED flash and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). On the front, it has a 8MP camera with Sony IMX219 sensor and wide-angle lens.
• Processor, RAM, and Storage
The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor inside with octa-core SoC clocking at 1.4GHz. It has 3GB RAM and an inbuilt storage of 32GB which can be extended up to 128GB with microSD. Unfortunately, just like most other budget smartphones, K6 Power has a hybrid slot.
• The OS and UI
It runs on Android Marshmallow with Vibe Pure UI from Lenovo. There are many improvements in the UI, and overall performance is smoother in K6 Power.
Main Highlights of Lenovo K6 Power
• The Fingerprint Scanner
One of the major highlights of the phone is its fingerprint scanner which is located at the back of the device next to the camera and LED flash.
• The Battery
Another noteworthy highlight is its large 4,000mAh battery. The non-removable Lithium-Polymer battery offers a standby of up to 649 hours on 3G network and talk-time of up to 33 hours on 3G network and up to 50 hours on 2G network. Moreover, the battery supports reverse charging as well. With the help of this feature, you can use K6 Power to charge other devices. It also comes with a handy ‘Ultimate Powersaver’ mode which can be enabled to extend the battery life. When enabled, this feature will disable all the functions apart from calls and messaging.
• The Dual Speakers
Even the dual speakers at the back of the device are impressive and can easily fill a small room with good audio quality. K6 Power also supports Dolby Atmos which can be used for adjusting the audio settings.
Pros and Cons
Pros
• Decent build and looks- The 5-inch K6 Power has an impressive build. It is light in weight, beautifully designed and its metal body makes it look like a premium handset.
• Excellent battery life- The 4,000mAh battery of the phone is ideal even if you are a heavy mobile user. Be it calling, watching videos, or playing games; the battery is sure to keep up with your mobile needs.
• Pure UI- Lenovo used Vibe UI in its phones in the past. With K6 Power, it has switched to the Pure UI which is far better and almost similar to stock Android UI.
• PDAF- A common problem with a lot of budget smartphones is blurry images when capturing moving subjects. With K6 Power’s Phase Detection Auto Focus, the rear camera of the phone can easily lock focus and capture moving objects very clearly.
• Quick fingerprint sensor- While several budget phones now come with a fingerprint sensor, K6 Power has one of the fastest sensors.
Cons
• Non-removable battery- Like most other smartphones, the battery of K6 Power cannot be removed which can be a problem when a user wants to replace it.
• Hybrid SIM slot- The phone has a hybrid SIM slot, and there is no separate slot for inserting a memory card.
• Front camera could have been better- While the rear 13MP camera is great, the front 5MP camera is not that great. Pictures taken in low-light have too much noise.
• No support for fast charging- Many of the smartphones now support fast charging. Unfortunately, Lenovo K6 Power doesn’t.
• No default Gallery app-New users can find it a little confusing as there is no default Gallery app in K6 Power. It comes preinstalled with Google Photos but is not the default app to handle the photos. Users are required to install a 3rd party gallery app.
