We smartphone lovers have been blessed by Micromax. On some days, it blesses us with “Yuphoria“, some other days it has something “Yunique” for us, and on some it surprises us with its “Yureka” products. The Gurgaon based electronics producer never seems to disappoint when it comes to its innovative gadgets… And this time, it has promised us “Yutopia“. Now getting over the wordplay, let’s get straight to the point- Micromax has announced the launch of its next product, a flagship of its subsidiary brand Yu, named Yutopia. Being marketed as the ‘World’s most powerful Smartphone’, the new product will compete with the likes of OnePlus2 and Xiaomi’s line of popular smartphones.
Rahul Sharma, Yu Founder a week back tweeted about this phone calling it a beast!

Code named ‘Project Achilles’, the smartphone will be launched sometime next month and made available in time for Diwali. The Yutopia will be ‘Made In India’, making at least Narendra Modi happy! The fact that the phone will be manufactured in India it may be surprising, seeing how most brands prefer to outsource the production to China. However, this will result in a reduced price tag for Indian buyers on the Yutopia as transport costs are saved on. As mentioned earlier, the flagship of the Micromax offshoot will be priced higher than the previous YU Smartphones. However, no hard facts are out yet on the pricing.

Coming to the specs…well there are none, at least none that are confirmed yet. However, according to the benchmark listings for a certain YU 5050 which reports suggest is the Yutopia, the phone will sport a 5.2″ screen with a display resolution of up to 2000. The powerful phone will be equipped with a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor along with a massive 4 GB of RAM ensuring that the user has only the best in class multitasking experience. On the camera front, the Yutopia may sport a 21 megapixel primary camera and an 8 megapixel secondary camera for selfies and video calling. The internal storage will be a whopping 32GB which can be further expanded using a microSD card slot. The OS of choice is supposedly Cyanogenmod which will be based on the Android 5.1.1. If these rumoured specs turn out to be true, then the phone will definitely be the best in class, and give a tough fight to the other smartphones in the range.

Although the tall claims by Micromax may seem just that tall it will still be interesting to see how well it is able to compete with the likes of Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. in the segment of high end phones.
