Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A received an excellent response in the Indian market. And to build upon that success, the Chinese company has now unveiled the Redmi 5A. To keep the weight and mostly price in check, Xiaomi has done away with a metal body. The plastic handset comes with a matte finish. Another omission is a fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi 5A features a 5-inch HD IPS screen. It is powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset. It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The phone has a hybrid slot that can take a microSD card or a secondary SIM.
Xiaomi phones have nicely tuned cameras. This one sports a 13 MP main camera with an LEd flash. For selfies, you get a 5 MP front-shooter. The phone comes with an Infrared sensor that can be used for controlling TV, music system, and AC.
The dual-SIM handset supports 4G VoLTE. So, you don’t have to miss out on Reliance Jio network. According to Xiaomi, the 3000 mAh battery can last up to eight days with light use.
The Redmi 5A is priced at 599 yuan (Approx Rs 6000). And starting today, the phone is available for purchase in its home country.
