Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with Dual Selfie Camera Launched in Thailand

China-based tech giant Xiaomi has finally launched its new Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in Thailand. The phone is successor to Redmi Note 5 Pro and was subject to several leaks and rumours prior to the launch revealing almost of its details.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Price and Availability:

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is launched in Thailand with a price tag of 6,990 Baht which is roughly Rs. 16,000. The colour options available for the buyers are Black, Blue, and Rose Gold. There is no official word yet on the launch of the phone in India, but you can expect the same soon as India is one of the key markets for the company where it dominates the sub-20k price segment. Of course, the price in India won’t be exactly as converted above.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Software and Hardware Configuration:

The Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a at larger 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with an iPhone X like notch at the top. The phone runs Android Oreo 8.1 operating system out of the box along with the company’s own MIUI 9 on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The storage can be increased further by means of a microSD card. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh battery which comes with support for fast charging.

In terms of optics, the phone features a dual rear camera set up which consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and Dual Pixel autofocus + 5-megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing. The front also hosts a dual camera module comprising of AI backed 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The front camera doubles up as Face Unlock and it also supports Portrait Mode and can last for two days on a single charge as promised by the company.

Overall, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is not a significant improvement over its predecessor Note 5 Pro. But the Redmi Note 5 Pro is an extremely popular phone in its price segment, so we expect the Note 6 Pro as well to perform good.
