Xiaomi has introduced a higher storage version of the Redmi Go smartphone in India. The new Redmi Go comes with 16GB storage. It is priced at Rs. 4,799. Just two months ago in March 2019, the company has launched the entry-level Redmi Go smartphone in the country. It came with a price tag of Rs. 4,499 and offered 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. The phone is still available to purchase through Flipkart.

The new Redmi Go with 16GB storage comes at a price of Rs 4,799. The new variant of the Redmi Go will be available for purchase through Mi.com, Mi Home Stores and Amazon India. The Redmi Go smartphone is the most affordable smartphone from the Xiaomi stable. The smartphone runs Android Oreo (Go Edition) OS – a customized OS that is built to cater to smartphones with low RAM and memory capacity.

Xiaomi Redmi Go specifications and features

The Xiaomi Redmi Go comes with a standard 5-inch HD display. The resolution of the display screen is 720×1280 pixels. It comes with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s entry-level Snapdragon 425 SoC – which comprises of a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone is extremely cost effective and offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The higher model comes with 16GB storage. Using a microSD card, the storage can be further expanded to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone supports more than 20 regional Indian languages and seamlessly supports Google Assistant in Hindi.

As for the camera, the Xiaomi smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel primary rear camera with 11-scene mode detection, Auto-HDR, and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera which enables to capture selfies and supports video calling.

As for the connectivity options, the smartphone can seamlessly connect to 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth v4.1, FM radio, micro-USB port, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 3.5mm audio socket. The Redmi Go is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. As per the company, it can last for a good two hours which, Xiaomi claims, is good enough to enable 12.5 hours of 4G calling and standby time of up to 10 days.
