Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced the launch of new colour variant, Lake Blue, of Redmi 5A in India. This is fourth colour in addition to Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey. Xiaomi made the announcement of the new variant on its official blog where it also confirmed that the company has managed to sell 5 million units of Redmi 5A. Xiaomi had launched the phone with an introductory price tag of Rs. 4,999 and announced that the offer will end as soon as 5 million units are sold. Recently, the price of the device was increased to the original price of Rs. 5,999.

The first sale of new colour variant was held yesterday on Mi.com and Flipkart.com. The Lake Blue variant will be priced at Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB variant and Rs. 6,999 for the 3GB model. The second sale will be held on 22nd March at 12 noon.

Redmi 5A Specifications:

Redmi 5A is equipped with 5-inch HD IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core 1.4GHz SOC. The phone comes with two variants- 2GB RAM + 16GB Internal Storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB Internal Storage. Storage can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Talking about optics, there’s a 13MP primary snapper with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP secondary snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. All of this is backed by 3,000mAh battery. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat based on Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 9 out-of-the-box.

In terms of dimensions- the Redmi 5A measures 140×70.1×8.35 mm and weighs about 137grams. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB and 3.5mm headphone jack.
