Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Xiaomi Redmi 4by Nawaf Khan November 2, 2016
After the huge success of the Xiaomi Redmi 3, Xiaomi is all set to announce the next iteration of their successful line-up, the Redmi 4. Though there has been no official announcement, leaked images and specifications of the new device surfaced online just days after Xiaomi’s Beijing event, where they announced the phenomenal, almost bezel-free Mi Mix.
On the certification site TENAA, the smartphone was certified, and that’s when some of the leaked images cropped up. Along with the pictures, some of the specifications of the Redmi 4 have also cropped up. So, let’s take a look at what the Xiaomi Redmi 4 shall pack.
Display: 5-inch FullHD display 1080 x 1920
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 1.4 GHz Octa-Core
RAM: 3 GB
Storage: 32 GB expandable up to 128 GB
Camera: 13 MP Rear Camera, Dual LED Flash, 5 MP Front Camera
OS: Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Xiaomi MIUI Skin
Battery: 4000 mAh
Approx. Price: Rs. 12,000/-
The leaks also suggest that the Redmi 4 will come with a full metal body with a touch-sensitive Home button at the front. The power button and the volume rockers will most probably be present on the right side of the new device.
As far as specifications go, the Redmi 4 has hardware that is up to the mark. Powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset, the Redmi 4 will be adequately snappy and fast. The 3 GB of RAM housed within the device will also help. It will pack a 5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) LCD display. As far as storage is concerned, the Redmi 4 will come with an internal capacity of 32GB. If you want more, you can get up to 128GB by using the external memory card slot. If the images are to be believed, the Redmi 4 will have the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device on the top half. The Redmi 4 is also supposed to pack a 4000 mAh battery, which might be adequate for a full day or a few hours more.
The leaks also suggest that here might be a 2 GB variant of the Redmi 4, which might be called the Redmi 4A. The Redmi 4A is rumoured to house a 5-inch 720p display and be powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset. It will have 2GB memory and storage capacity of 16GB. A battery of 3000 mAh will power the device. Judging from the rumoured specs, it appears that the Redmi 4A will be a cheaper version of the Redmi 4. The rumoured price of the Redmi 4A is about half of that of the Redmi 4, approximately Rs. 7,000/-.
Both of these devices are tipped to be announced sometime in November, but nothing is confirmed by the company yet. As for now, these are just rumours, and we will have to wait and see whether Xiaomi announces two new smartphones after just announcing the Mi Mix.
