Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone giant, has made rapid strides into new areas of consumer electronics. It has announced the launch of its new Mi TV 4A variant for the Chinese market. The 58-inch variant of the smart TV will be available for sale at 2999 yuan which converts to around USD 433 or about Rs. 32,000. However, the Mi TV 4A is currently available in China only.

The Mi TV 4A series is touted to be affordable and extremely cost-effective, a hallmark of Xiaomi products. The series was unveiled in China first in March last year. It was launched as 43-inch, 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch models and subsequently, a cheaper 32-inch model was also launched.

The 43-inch and 49-inch screen variant of the Mi TV 4A feature 1080p resolution on their displays. The 55-inch and 65-inch models boast of 4K display resolution each. The latest 58-inch model will also feature a 4K HDR screen.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 58-inch is powered by a quad-core 64-bit high-performance Amlogic T962 clocked at 1.5GHz. It’s graphics is powered by a Mali 450 750MHz GPU. The Amlogic processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and the smart TV offers up to 8GB of flash memory as against 32GB of eMMC5.1 flash memory on other versions.

The Mi TV 4A 58-inch version comes with support for HDR10. It sports a static contrast ratio of 5000:1, refresh rate of 60Hz, viewing angle of 178 °, and comes with the latest UHD HLG while supporting the Dolby Vision format.

The Mi TV 4A sports a dual-band WiFi connection, as well as Bluetooth 4.2, just like the other smart TVs from the Xiaomi stable. The Bluetooth connectivity enables accessories such as Bluetooth mouse, speakers, keyboard, gaming pad etc. to seamlessly pair with and connect to the smart TV.

The Mi TV 4A is equipped with Xiaomi’s PatchWall artificial intelligence system with voice control. This system enables the smart TV to read and intelligently learn the preferences of the users with respect to their surfing habits. The TV boasts of 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports and antenna, AV input to connect the set-top box, S / PDIF and other interfaces.

The Mi TV 4A 58-inch version is available in Black colour only as of now. It’s price tag of $433 or roughly Rs. 32,000 makes it very affordable, considering its smart features. The Mi TV 4A is already up for grabs in China and can be reserved through the mi.com website. It would go on sale in China from October 28 onwards.
