Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, will be announcing the Mi Pad 4 in China on June 25. The company has confirmed the same on microblogging website Weibo. There will be two launches on the same day. The company will launch Redmi 6 Pro as well. There has been a lot of leaks and speculations around the Redmi 6 Pro but not as much around the Mi Pad 4.  The Mi Pad 3 wasn’t launched with great fanfare. It did not even get launched in India.

If rumours are to be believed, the Mi Pad 4 will be the world’s first tablet that would feature an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be the first and only tablet in the world to have an almost bezel-less display. The Mi Pad 4 will also boast of a large battery of 6,600mAh battery, just like the Mi Pad 3.

As for the features under the hood, the Mi Pad 4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. While not much else is known about the Mi Pad 4, it may sport features like Mi Pad 3 which include a 7.9-inch screen and a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. However, the Mi Pad 3 was powered by a MediaTek processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The tablet uses USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. The operating system used by the tablet is Xiaomi’s custom ROM MIUI 8.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is also expected to be like the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A that were launched in China recently with MediaTek processors. The smartphones’ display comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Redmi 6 Pro will see in improvement by offering a notch like design on the top and enhancing the aspect ratio to 19:9. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It will be backed by a battery of 4,000mAh capacity.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro will succeed the recently launched and affordable Redmi 6 and the ultra-affordable Redmi 6A in China. These models succeeded the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A respectively. The Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A feature an upgraded design and hardware. They come at a price which is very cost-effective. The Redmi 6A, when it arrives in India, could be the cheapest smartphone to possess an aspect ratio of 18:9 and enable the users to enjoy a bezel-less display.
