Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer electronics giant, has announced a price cut on its flagship Mi LED TV 4 Pro 55 smart TV in India. The smart TV which was priced at Rs. 49,999 earlier will now be Rs. 2,000 cheaper and will be available at Rs. 47,999. The Mi TV is available at the new price on Flipkart, Amazon India, and Mi.com already. It is believed that the launch of Samsung’s new Super6 Series UHD TV line-up is the reason behind the sudden reduction in price of the Mi TV. Samsung has launched the smart TV in the price range of Rs 41,990 and Rs 61,990 to take on competition from Xiaomi and Vu.

As for its specifications, the Xiaomi’s Mi LED TV 4 Pro is touted to be the world’s thinnest LED TV. It measures 4.9mm at its thinnest edge. The thickest part of the TV measures 48 mm in thickness and it houses all the internal electronics.

The Mi TV comes with a 55-inch 4K “frameless” display. The bezels are very thin to the point of being non-existent. The resolution of the display is 3840 x 2160 pixels. The Mi TV offers a 178-degree wide viewing angle. The display also comes with a 60Hz refresh rate and a response time of 8 milliseconds.

The Mi TV is equipped with two 8W speakers with Dolby Audio support. It offers connectivity ports such as two USB 2.0 ports, three HDMI ports, one Ethernet port, one AV port, and one S/PDIF port. It supports Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.

Under the hood, the Mi LED TV 4 Pro is powered by a quad-core Amlogic Cortex A53 CPU coupled with Mali-450MP GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The smart TV is equipped with features such as PatchWall with Android TV. It supports Google Assistant for voice search, and brings over 7,00,000 hours of content on its platform.
