Xiaomi has announced a new projector called the Mi Home Projector Lite (Youth Edition). The announcement was made on its Mijia crowdfunding platform. The projector is only available in China for now. It has been launched at a price of CNY 2,199 which roughly converts to around Rs. 22,440. The same projector will retail at CNY 2,499 or around Rs. 25,500 after the crowdfunding process is completed.
The Xiaomi Mi Home Projector Lite measures just 15cm in height and weighs 1.3kg. The compact Mi Home projector’s launch in India as well as its price, if it is launched, has not been disclosed by the company yet.
The Xiaomi Mi Home Projector Lite (Youth Edition) sports a 500 ANSI lumens lamp. It can project at a resolution of 1080p. The projector offers support for HDR10. While it is a tiny projector, it can seamlessly project from a 40-inch screen size all the way up to 200-inch with a 1.2:1 aspect ratio.
The company has claimed in a Weibo post that the LED lamp on this Mi Home Projector can last up to 30,000 hours. The device also comes with integrated speakers and offers support for Dolby Atmos as well as DTS. The projector comes with ports for USB, HDMI, and also features an AUX port at the rear. This port can be used to connect the device to other peripherals.
The projector comes pre-installed with MIUI TV operating system, just like the operating system powering the MI TV by Xiaomi. Due to this, the projector can be used to stream TV shows and movies. It comes with an AI voice control setup. This enables the users to control the projector without the remote control.
This is Xiaomi’s second projector after the Mi Laser Projector. The earlier projector featured a 5000 lumens lamp that could last for 25,000 hours. The Mi Laser Projector has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
