Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker had unveiled the Mi Band 3 in May, alongside Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE smartphones. The company has made the fitness band available in China at CNY 169, which roughly translates to Rs. 1,800.

The company has now released teasers of a new Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Explorer Edition which indicates a possible launch very soon. The Mi Band 3 Explorer Edition features a translucent strap. The company has posted pictures of the fitness band on its official Weibo page.

Multiple photos posted by the company from various angles gives a glimpse of its features. The rubber strap that sport a translucent effect clearly stands out while the rest of the features of the fitness band doesn’t attribute too much uniqueness to it. While the company has not yet confirmed about the launch of any other variants, the availability or launch details of the Mi Band 3 Explorer Edition have also not been revealed.

However, if the teasers are any indication, the official launch should happen very soon. While the current photos show only a white colour translucent strap of the Mi Band 3 Explorer Edition, the smart tracking device may be launched in multiple colour options. The Mi Band 3 was launched in Black, Blue, and Orange colour options. The company also offers an NFC version of the Mi Band 3. It will be available sometime in September at a price of CNY 199, which roughly translates to around Rs. 2100.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 sports a larger, 0.78-inch capacitive OLED display. This new display panel displays incoming call and text message alerts. It also shows the current time, steps taken, and heart rate count. The latest Mi Band model also includes a heart-rate (PPG) sensor and bears a triaxial acceleration sensor.

The Mi Band also provides sleep monitoring features and is powered by a battery with 110mAh capacity. The battery is a significant improvement over the Mi Band 2 which has a capacity of over 70mAh. The device facilitates Bluetooth 4.2 LE connectivity. This makes the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 compatible with most Android and iOS devices. The Mi Band 3, along with the strap, weighs 20 grams.
