Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, will be launching the Mi A2. The global variant of the Mi A2 has featured in multiple leaks since the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. The Mi A2 is a next-generation Android smartphone which will feature the Android One handset from Xiaomi. The Mi A2 is believed to be the global variant of the Mi 6X.

Xiaomi has now confirmed the launch of the Mi A2 at the company’s global launch event in Spain set to be held on July 24. The device has now been confirmed by Xiaomi, and it is largely expected to be unveiled in Spain at the company’s global launch event on July 24. The smartphone is expected to possess a Snapdragon 660 SoC and run stock Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It will not feature the company’s MIUI custom Android ROM in all likelihood.

Xiaomi has announced the Mi A2 using its Twitter handle. The company has shared a poster of the Android One device with the tagline “Next Gen is Coming.” While the company is yet to officially confirm the launch of the smartphone at the global event in Spain, if we go by the company’s trends, it is highly likely that the smartphone will be launched on July 24. The MiA1 had also been launched at its global event held in Delhi last year at this time. As per the poster, the Mi A2 smartphone will sport a front display with a significant bezel on the top as well as the bottom chin.

There were a few previous leaks which suggested that the company is expected to launch a Mi A2 Lite variant at the global event. The Mi A2 is expected to feature a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display. The display will come with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and no display notch. The smartphone is most likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. This will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to sport a vertically stacked dual camera setup. The primary camera will have a 12-megapixel primary sensor paired with an LED flash and an f/1.75 aperture. The secondary camera will sport a 20-megapixel sensor with the same f/1.75 aperture. At the front, the smartphone may pack in a 20-megapixel front camera sensor which will be a delight for selfie lovers.

Xiaomi is expected to leverage its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to offer an AI Portrait mode on the handset. The smartphone could come with a 3010mAh battery that will boast of Quick Charge 3.0 support. The smartphone will offer a host of connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

If the rumours and leaks around the Mi A2 is to be believed, the price of the smartphone is set at CHF 289 which converts to roughly Rs. 20,000 for the 32GB storage variant. The price for the model with 64GB of storage is CHF 329 which converts to around Rs. Rs. 22,800. The highest variant in terms of storage with the 128GB capacity will be priced at CHF 369 which works out to around Rs. 25,600.
