China-based smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its much talked about Mi 9T smartphone globally at an event hosted in Spain. The phone is a rebranded version of the Redmi K20 for European markets. The Redmi K20 went official in China last month and is expected to hit the Indian market very soon. Some of the key highlights of Mi 9T are 6.39-inch display, Snapdragon 730 SoC, 6GB RAM and GameTurbo feature. Let’s discuss the pricing before we go through the specs in detail.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Price

Xiaomi Mi 9T is priced in Europe starting at €329 (roughly Rs. 25,850) for the base variant i.e. 6GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage, whereas the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at €369 (roughly Rs. 28,996). The sales will start from 17 June.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Features and Specs

As mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Mi 9T is quite is quite similar to Redmi K20 in terms of both design and specifications, with some slight changes. It sports a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The display is notch less as the phone features a pop-up selfie camera which helps to improve the screen-to-body ratio to 91.90%. The phone is covered by P2i nano-coating and is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on front as well as back. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 730 SoC along with 6GB of RAM. There is a GameTurbo feature that accelerates gaming performance. There are two options in terms of inbuilt storage- 64GB and 128GB. However, there is no option to expand the memory by means of a microSD card. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. In terms of software, the phone runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box.

In the camera department, you get a horizontally stacked triple camera set up on the back which consists of a 48MP Sony IMX582 primary sensor with an f/1.75 lens + 8MP secondary sensor + a third 13MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens. For selfies, there’s a 20MP snapper which is also capable of shooting wide-angle shots. The camera set up features AI face recognition, AI studio light effects, handheld super night scene, and 960 fps slow-mo recording.

In terms of connectivity, the Mi 9T features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. For security purpose, there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as Face Unlock feature. The dimensions of the phone are 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8 mm and its weight is about 191 grams.

It is unlikely that Xiaomi will launch the Mi 9T in India as it is expected to launch the Redmi K20 here soon. Stay tuned for further updates.
