Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro to Launch Globally Soon: Confirmed by The Company

Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite smartphones at an event held in company’s hometown China. And now Xiaomi’s global spokesperson Donovan Sung has revealed on twitter that the company will soon be launching the Mi 8 Pro in global markets without mentioning the exact launch date or which markets. Donovan Sung also posted some unboxing shots of the brand new handset in Twilight Gold colour. The biggest highlight of the Mi 8 Pro is the on-screen fingerprint reader that was missing on the Mi 8. It also features the stunning gradient Twilight Gold shade and transparent back which was exclusive to the Mi 8 Explorer Edition till now.

For those who are unaware, here’s a quick glance through of Mi 8 Pro features and specifications…

The Mi 8 Pro flaunts a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display with 2248 x 1080 pixel screen resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone draws power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset alongside Adreno 630 GPU for graphics, 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The phone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box. All of this is backed by a 3,400mAh non-removable battery.

In terms of optics, you get a dual camera set up on the rear which consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture + 12-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The camera set up supports LED flash, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Dual Pixel Phase Detection Autofocus, and 2X optical zoom. The front hosts a 20-megapixel sensor with IR Face Unlock.
