In earlier 2020, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 9 lineup to the Indian market. Through an online-only event in March, Xiaomi revealed the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max whereas the standard Redmi Note 9 was made public in July. We are witnessing quite many manufacturers coming with their 5G-supported smartphones at a range of prices, from entry-level to premium segment. As the 4G variant of Redmi Note 9 was launched first in India, Xiaomi’s sub-brand decided to skip this one for its home market and come straight up with a 5G-supported Redmi Note 9 lineup to cope up with the competitors.

It was today when Redmi made it official by releasing a poster where it has confirmed that the 5G-enabled Redmi Note 9 will be launched on Nov 26 in its home market at 2000 HRS CST. The poster also revealed the design and form factor of the upcoming Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 5G-lineup: Launch date

It is expected that the brand will debut three devices at Nov 26 launch event. Among the three, one will come with 4G support and the rest will sport a 5G chip. Coming to the spec-sheet, almost all of it is known already as the smartphone was spotted in the TENAA listing. The design language of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G reveals that it can be a rebranded version of Mi 10T Lite.

Redmi Note 9 5G-lineup: Expected features/specs

The model numbers listed on Chinese telecom portal TENAA, M200722C, and M2007J17C are expected to be Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G, respectively. Earlier, it was speculated that the 4G-enabled model number M2010J19SC will come under the name Redmi 10, but now it seems that it will be under the Redmi Note 9 lineup.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand is offering the Note 9 5G with an LCD panel of 6.53” and a punch-hole cutout. The panel will also come with a high refresh rate and the resolution will be full HD+. At its core, Redmi Note 9 5G will be powered by Dimensity 800U SoC paired with a 5,000 mAh battery. The smartphone will also sport quick-charging up to 22.5W.

Coming to the optics, the triple-camera housing will feature a primary sensor of 48MP. The punch-hole cutout will house a 13MP selfie snapper. The device is expected to be rebranded as Redmi Note 9T in the foreign markets.

The Pro 5G variant will come with a bit bigger display of 6.67” with Full HD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel will also have a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. The device will draw its power from Snapdragon 750G SoC with a bit smaller 4820 mAh battery. Redmi is offering 33W fast-charging support on the Pro variant. The rear camera array will come with a primary sensor of 108MP and the front camera will be a 16MP sensor.

Lastly, the 4G-enabled Redmi Note 9 will come with a 6.53” LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. The screen resolution will be full HD+ and the refresh rate will be 60Hz. The chipset powering the Redmi Note 9 will be Snapdragon 662. With fast-charging support of 22.5W, the smartphone will come with a huge 6,000 mAh battery. The triple-camera array will sport a primary sensor of 48MP and the waterdrop notch will house an 8MP sensor. In the European market, POCO M3 is expected to launch as a rebranded Redmi Note 9 on Nov 24.
