The Xiaomi Mi A1 is known as Mi 5X in China. Unlike the Android One based Mi A1 though, this phone comes with MIUI skin on top of the Android OS. Rest of things such as the design language and specifications remain the same. That’s enough to impress Xiaomi fans. But, the company is now adding some more spice to the already popular device. The new handset will be called the Mi 5X Special Edition and will come in chili red.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X Special Edition is up for pre-registrations in China. The sale will commence from November 1. In the home country, Xiaomi has put a 1499 yuan (approx. Rs 15,000) price on the Mi 5X Special Edition. Whether the Indian version Mi A1 gets a similar special edition treatment remains to be seen.
Before you scratch your head over specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC (System on Chip). The phone has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage capacity. A hybrid slot can either be used for storage expansion or a secondary SIM. For photography buffs, the phone features a dual camera setup (12 MP primary sensor + 5 MP secondary sensor).
