Earlier the Slide series received some amazing reviews and this time iBall plans to take the success even further with its brand new Workhorse Series. The series includes iball i5715 and iBall i6012 – both 7 inch tablets preloaded with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Both of these pump in some fabulous features and make up a perfect entry-level tablet. Let us have a close look at the duo.

Iball i5715Iball i5715:

  • 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display
  • 1 GHz ARM Cortex A5 processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 2 MP primary camera
  • VGA secondary camera

The 7-inch screen offers a standard display resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. For now the gadget runs on Android ICS, but you can expect an upgrade to Android Jelly Bean somewhere in the near future. The 2 MP primary camera seems fair enough for an entry-level tablet. Moreover, the gadget also has a VGA secondary camera for video calling. Other features include a Wi-Fi connectivity, Micro USB port, HDMI port and 3G connection through a USB dongle.

The iball i5715 comes with 4 GB of internal storage. You can further extend it up to 32 GB using a microSD card. Lastly, a powerful 2900 mAh battery promises you a satisfactory talk time. The gadget weighs just 288 grams, which seems quite impressive when compared with other high-end tablets currently available. The best online deal on the tablet might cost you something around Rs. 6000, which is definitely not bad.

IBall i6012IBall i6012:

  • 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display
  • 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • VGA front camera

This one too, sports a 7-inch multi-touch display but is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and a 1 GB RAM. The tablet features a VGA primary camera but lacks a secondary camera, and this might disappoint you a bit if video calling is one of your top priorities. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, HDMI port, Micro USB port and a 3G connection via a USB dongle.

The iball i6012 offers a much greater storage space at 8 GB which is further expandable up to 32 GB. However, at 336 grams, the tablet feels a bit heavy compared to the i5715. The gadget is currently available online at the best price of Rs. 7625.

No doubt, iBall might presently not be the front-runner in the tablet manufacturing arena, but has indeed come up with some fabulous innovations over the past few years, and the brand new duo will further add up to its glory.
