Love reading? Well, you must have had a collection of your favourite books, magazines and much more in your home. With changing times and a broadband connection, you could have stumbled upon a massive collection of books online. Glad aren’t you?

With a PC/Laptop/Tablet, you can now lay your hands upon almost any book you wish to read online 24×7. You need not even spend money to read books anymore. The trend of reading books online is definitely catching up. More and more people are finding it convenient to read books online through their laptops or tablets – especially when they are on the move.

In a recent poll conducted by Logicserve Group, it was revealed that around 36.05 % of Indians choose to read books online. Some prefer reading books for leisure while others take it as a serious hobby. According to the poll, books on romantic novels seem to be highly popular among Indians with 42.48 % votes. Thriller is the next favourite but lagging way behind with 27.43 % of the total votes. Around 8.65 % enjoy reading horror during leisures, while comedy lovers account to only 6.13 % of the total votes.

Adventure books seem to be not too popular among Indians with just 4.14 % opting for the same. Tech geeks make up to only 3.08 % of the total votes. Cook books, self help and spiritual books are the least preferred ones among Indian readers.

The poll results conclude that Indian readers these days prefer reading books online rather than flipping over pages of a traditionally cover bound book. Apart from convenience of reading, another reason why individuals choose e-books is the discounted price. Moreover, e-books being digital files never go out of stock. With all of these benefits and a lot more, it seems like the next few decades is sure to witness a tremendous growth in the number of individuals switching over from traditional reading methods to online reading.
