Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched a new Z series smartphone called Z5x in China. The USP feature of the smartphone is its punch-hole display and the massive 5000 mAh battery pack that it is equipped with. The mid-budget segment smartphone will go on sale in China in the next few days and will be offered at a starting price of Yuan 1,398, which converts to around Rs 14,400.

The Z5x sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display. It offers a resolution of 1080 * 2340 pixels. The aspect ratio of the smartphone is 19.5:9. The Z5x is the first Vivo smartphone that will come with a punch-hole display for the front camera which will replace the traditional water-drop notch or pop-up motors.

The punch-hole sports a 16MP front shooter with an f/2.0 aperture which enables users to capture seamless selfies. At the rear, the Z5x comes with a triple camera setup. This setup comprises a 16MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.78. The other two cameras include an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor.

Under the hood, the Z5x is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 4GB/ 6GB/ 8GB RAM and 64GB/ 128GB storage options. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.

The Z5x is equipped with a massive 5,000 mAh battery. It also hosts a fingerprint scanner at the rear to enable secure and authentic access. As for its connectivity options, the smartphone can seamlessly connect using 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc.

The smartphone will be available for purchase in China at a starting price of Yuan 1,398, which roughly converts to around Rs 14,400 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. For the 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage variant, the cost is Yuan 1,498 which roughly converts to Rs 15,400. The 128GB storage variants with 6GB and 8GB RAM options are priced at Yuan 1,698, which converts to around Rs 17,400 and Yuan 1,998 (which converts to around Rs 20,500) respectively.

The Z5x smartphone will be available in colour options namely Aurora, Extreme Night Black, and Phantom Black. While the smartphone is expected to be available for sale in China within the next few days, there is no official word on its India launch from the company.
