The Nokia 5.1 sports 5.5-inch Full HD+ display with a tall 18:9 aspect ratio and 720×1280 pixel resolution. In terms of design, it has all aluminum body with curved edges.

The Honor 9 Lite features 5.65-inch LCD Full HD+ display with 1080×2160 pixel resolution and same 18:9 aspect ratio as that of Nokia 5.1. It sports a glass and aluminum design.

While, the Vivo Y81 sports a larger 6.22-inch HD+ LCD notched display having 1520 x 720 pixels resolution and an even taller 19:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with thin bezels and a layer of Gorilla glass protection on top. In terms of design, the phone features all metal body.

In terms of design, the Nokia 5.1 wins the battle due to its trendy look, whereas in terms the Vivo Y81 has an edge due to its larger display.

The Vivo Y81 is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio P22 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The onboard storage capacity of the phone is 32GB which can be extended further up to 256GB, thanks to the microSD card slot.

The Honor 9 Lite is backed by a Kirin 659 SoC coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. There are two options in terms of storage i.e. 32GB and 64GB. The storage can be expanded further up to 256GB using a microSD card.

On the other hand, the Nokia 5.1 is fueled by MediaTek MT6755S SoC along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB).

The Nokia 5.1 is shipped with Google’s Android One OS that provides optimised stock Android 8.1 Oreo experience with access to quick updates. The Vivo Y81 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box, which is topped with company’s own FunTouch OS. While, the Honor 9 Lite is shipped with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with EMUI 8.0 on top.

All three smartphone are almost at par when it comes to battery. The Honor 9 Lite and Nokia 5.1 are backed by a 3,000mAh battery, whereas the Vivo Y81 gets a slightly higher 3,260mAh battery giving it a slight upper hand over the other two. However, being budget smartphone, none of the three devices has support for fast or wireless charging.

In the camera department, you get a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and an LED flash + 8MP front snapper in Nokia 5.1. The Vivo Y81 also features a single rear camera of 13MP (f/2.2 aperture) and a single front camera of 5MP for selfies and video calls. The rear camera of Vivo Y81 has several features like HDR mode, pro mode, portrait bokeh mode, AI face beauty etc.

On the other hand, the Honor 9 Lite sports four cameras. There’s a horizontally stacked dual rear camera set up comprising of 13-megapixel primary snapper (f/2.2 aperture) and a 2-megapixel secondary snapper with PDAF and LED flash module. The front also hosts a similar 13MP + 2MP dual camera set up. At least on paper the Honor 9 Lite with Quad Camera set up is a winner. However, the camera performance is much more than megapixels, so we advise you to refer to more user reviews before taking decision based on camera.

In terms of dimensions, the Honor 9 Lite measures 151 x 71.9 x 7.6 mm and weighs 149 grams. The Vivo Y81 measures 155.06 x 75.00 x 7.77 mm and weighs about 146.50 grams. While the Nokia 5.1 151.1 x 70.73 x 8.27 mm and weighs in at 160 grams. So, the Vivo Y81 seems to be the slim as well as lightest of the three.

The Honor 9 Lite is the cheapest of all three phones with price tag of Rs. 11,999. The Vivo Y81 is priced slightly higher at Rs. 12,990 while the Nokia 5.1 is the most expensive of phone out of the three which is priced at Rs. 14,999.

If good camera is your primary requirement in the phone, then you must go for Honor 9 Lite as it features quad camera set up which is good in terms of specs in this price range.
