Vivo Y51A Launched In India With Snapdragon 662 And 5,000 mAh Battery

In a sub-20,000 category, Vivo imported a new smartphone in the Indian market, dubbed as Vivo Y51A. In December 2020, the brand has introduced its forerunner, Vivo Y51. The successor comes with a significant change in terms of processor. The whole Y51 lineup is next in line with the last year’s Y50 series that was introduced in June.

Vivo Y51A: Key specs & features

The Chinese tech mogul Vivo is offering Vivo Y51A in a screen size of 6.58” with 1080*2400 pixels. The IPS LCD panel also sports a waterdrop notch.

The smartphone draws its power from Snapdragon 662 SoC, Qualcomm’s mid-range chipset. The CPU is paired with 8 gigs of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There will also be the option of storage expansion up to 1TB using the dedicated microSD card slot. On the software front, the smartphone will come with Android 11 with Vivo’s custom skin FunTouch OS on top.

The battery size of Vivo Y51A is 5,000 mAh and it supports fast-charging up to 18W. The waterdrop notch on the top will house a 16-megapixel selfie snapper and the rear will have a triple-camera system. The primary lens will be a 48-megapixel sensor paired with a 2-megapixel depth and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The camera app will offer Super Night mode on both, front and rear cameras. With no OIS, Vivo has settled for EIS for video stabilization. All the other design elements and specs on Vivo Y51A are similar to that of last year’s Vivo Y51. The only change is in the CPU where the Vivo Y51 was launched with Snapdragon 665.

Some other connectivity features are Bluetooth 5.0, dual-4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, GPS, USB type-C, and our treasured 3.5mm audio port.

Pricing and availability

With two color options, Crystal Symphony and Titanium Sapphire, Vivo Y51A is available at a retail price of ₹17,990. Customers can buy it from all the retail outlets along with e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, TataCliq, and Vivo India’s web store.

The customers can avail of no-cost EMI options from multiple financing services such as Bajaj FinServ, IDFC First Bank, TVS Credit, HDB, Home Credit, and ICICI Bank. There is also a flat ₹1,000 off for the credit/debit cardholders of HDFC Bank if the EMI option is chosen. On credit card payments, customers will get ₹750 cashback from HDFC Bank.
