It may be raining water here, but in China, it is raining Smartphones. The epicentre of all things tech will see the launch of two new Smartphones from the Dongguan-based technology company in the form of the powerful Vivo X7 and X7 Plus. To be available only for the Chinese market so far, here are its features and specifications…
Let’s begin with what makes the two Smartphones different; the Vivo X7 comes with a 5.2-inch screen boasting a display resolution of 1080 x 1920p. The power to run the big screen will be supplied by the 3000mAh battery that the phone incorporates. For the X7 Plus, Vivo decided to go with a larger 5.7-inch screen with the same display resolution as the X7. For such a big screen, 3000mAh would not suffice; hence the X7 Plus gets a bigger 4000mAh capacity battery. The two Smartphones sport a 2.5D curved glass on top.
Both the Vivos are excellent shooters when it comes to taking Instagram-worthy selfies; they sport a whopping 16MP front camera which comes with the ‘moonlight’ feature that adds a soft light to the picture when there isn’t enough natural light available. The front camera may very well be the selling point of these Vivo Smartphones as only a handful of Smartphones from brands like HTC & Sony offer a secondary camera as amazing as these.
The primary camera is where the two phones differ- Vivo X7 includes a 13MP back camera with f/2.2 aperture while the X7 Plus has a better 16MP with f/2.0 aperture.
The two Smartphones share the same tech specs… both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 652 processor which clocks a speed of 1.8GHz. It means that you can run multiple tasks at the same time and not bother about lags of any kind. This chipset means the Adreno 510 is the GPU of choice which translates to smooth graphics and fun gaming time! The Vivo X7 & X7 Plus include 4GB of RAM, which has become quite the norm for every powerful Smartphone out there. If like any other Smartphone user, you love clicking pictures, taking videos, transferring movies & watching them on the phone, downloading multiple apps, then you will be happy with the 64GB of internal storage that these Vivos come with.
The Vivo X7 & Vivo X7 Plus offer a Fingerprint sensor built into the Home key and are LTE compatible so that streaming videos online does not end up becoming a frustrating experience. The two phones will run on the Funtouch 2.5.1 OS, based on Android Lollipop. No news of any possible updates has been given yet.
The two Vivos have different release dates; the X7 will be priced at CNY 2,498 equivalent to about Rs.25, 000 and will be available from July 7 in China. The X7 Plus does not have a price tag yet but will be up for grabs from July 15. They will be available in Gold or Rose Gold colours.
As for the Indian Smartphone lovers, we’ll just have to wait and watch when does Ranveer Singh, the new ambassador for Vivo, stars in an ad for the Vivo X7 and X7 Plus to know when they come to India!
