Vivo X23 Symphony Edition with 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 660 and Improved Selfie Camera Launched in China

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo launched Vivo X23 smartphone couple of months back and now the company has launched a new toned-down variant of the same dubbed as Symphony Edition. It features mid-range Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6GB RAM instead of 8GB. The other variants of Vivo X23 include Star Edition, Logo Edition, and the Fashion Edition.

Vivo X23 Symphony Edition Price

The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is priced in China at CNY 2798 which is roughly Rs. 29,000. It is already available for pre-order and the sale will begin from 23 November. It will come in two new gradient colour options- Starry Black and Arctic Pink.

Vivo X23 Symphony Edition Features and Specifications

The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is identical to the Vivo X23 except for the chipset, RAM and selfie camera. The phone sports a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED screen featuring 2,340 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution and impressive 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent, thanks to the water drop shaped notch at the top. The handset draws power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset instead of Snapdragon 670 chipset that powers the regular X23 along with Adreno 615 GPU. The Symphony Edition also comes with 6GB of RAM instead of 8GB but retains the onboard storage capacity of 128GB which can be expanded further by means of a microSD card. All of this is backed by a 3,500mAh battery but the device is not Qi wireless charging compatible and provides 22.5W fast-charging support instead. It runs Funtouch OS based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

In the camera department, the rear camera set up remains same at 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) + 13-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture) but the selfie camera is upgraded to 24.8-megapixel from 12-megapixel and is backed by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

For security purpose, the Vivo X23 features an in-display fingerprint scanner. In addition, there’s also Face Unlock feature. It is still unclear if Vivo will launch the new edition outside of China.
