The BBK Electronics’ smartphone brand Vivo launched its latest V7 smartphone in India. Like most Vivo phones, it is a camera-centric device. It was introduced in Indonesia a couple of days back, before showing up in our country. The pre-orders have commenced from today for Rs 18,990. The phone will hit the stores on November 24. The Vivo V7 is exclusive to Flipkart and comes in matte black and champagne gold.
The V7 is a watered-down version of the bigger V7+, which was Vivo’s first minimum bezel design in India. The V7 follows its footsteps in terms of aesthetics. But, it gets a relatively smaller 5.7-inch screen with 1440×720 pixels. The display features a 2.5D curved IPS LCD display with a tall 18:9 aspect ratio providing it a 83.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display gets Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection as well.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest budget chipset Snapdragon 450, which hosts an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz based on 14nm architecture. For gaming, it relies on Adreno 506 GPU which is carried over from its sibling. The V7 comes with 4 GB RAM coupled with 32 GB internal storage. You can add more storage via a dedicated microSD slot. The phone has 3000 mAh battery inside.
On the photography front, it wears the same lenses as the Vivo V7+ which is a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It boasts of OmniVision OV16880 sensor and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), and LED flash.
The selfie-loving millennials will love the 24-megapixel front-facing camera. It even comes with an LED flash. You can make yourself look better with beautification modes. On the software front, the Vivo V7 runs Funtouch OS 3.2 on top of Android Nougat 7.1.2.
