
Vivo U1 with Snapdragon 439 and 4,030mAh Battery Launched in China
Recently Chinese smartphone maker Vivo teased its U series of smartphones in China and now the company has launched the first device from the series dubbed as Vivo U1. The budget smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 439 and will be backed by a 4,030mAh battery.
Vivo U1 Price and Availability Details
As mentioned earlier, the Vivo U1 is a budget smartphone which is priced in China at RMB 799 (roughly Rs. 8,400) for the base variant i.e. 3GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage. While the top variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage is priced at RMB 1,199 (roughly Rs. 12,500). The phone is already available for purchase on Vivo’s official online store, but shipping will begin in a week i.e. from February 26. There are three colour options available for the interested buyers- Starry Night Black, Aurora Blue, and Aurora Red. All colour options are gradients with different shades of purple/blue on the bottom side of the panel.
Vivo U1 Features and Specifications
The Vivo U1 comes with 6.2-inch FullView display with HD+ screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9 resulting into a screen-to-body ratio of 88.6 per cent. The display has fairly thin bezels on the sides and features 2.5D curved glass on top. There’s a water drop shaped notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. The device offers IP58 protection. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. There are two options in terms of memory- 3GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage. The storage can be expanded further up to 256GB, thanks to the microSD card slot. The phone will be shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with FunTouch OS 4.5 on top. The device also comes with Vivo’s Jovi AI assistant. There will be a long-lasting 4,030mAh battery underneath to keep things ticking.
In the camera department, you get a vertically aligned dual camera set up on the back which is placed on the top left corner and comprises of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture + a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera module also gets an LED flash support. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also doubles up as a Face Unlock which Vivo refers to as FaceWake. n addition, there’s a rear mounted fingerprint sensor for security purpose. In terms of dimensions, the Vivo U1 measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28 mm and weighs about 163.5 grams. Connectivity features included in the device are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and GPS.
