Vivo NEX S2, the successor of Vivo NEX, is reported to launch on December 11 as per a user’s post on Weibo (Chinese micro blogging site). As per the post, the Vivo NEX S2 will sport a triple-rear camera setup along with dual displays i.e. one on front and the other at the back. This is similar to the recently-launched Nubia X smartphone.
There is very little information available regarding the specifications of Vivo NEX S2 but it was recently teased officially which revealed that it will come with an edge-to-edge display panel without any bezels or top notch. As mentioned earlier, the phone will come with two displays and the rear display is rumoured to be slightly smaller with 16:9 aspect ratio.
The rear of the device will also sport a circular shaped triple rear camera set up that will feature a night vision mode for improved photography in low-light. It is surrounded by the glowing RGB ring and is tipped to feature a 3D TOF (Time of Flight) camera at the back, a technology also seen on the Oppo R17 Pro. The selfie camera will be missing as the rear camera can act as one due to the secondary display. Based on the speculations, the NEX S2 will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Overall, the NEX S2 is expected to be a good upgrade over the NEX S.
To recall, the Vivo NEX S features a 6.35-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display with 2316 × 1080 pixel screen resolution and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. The device runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system out of the box and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. For security purpose, it features an in-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of camera, there’s a dual camera set up on the back consisting of a 12MP primary sensor + 5 MP secondary sensor with LED Flash. The front hosts an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
A youtuber Mrwhosetheboss also unboxed a mysterious smartphone with same features like dual display and triple rear camera. Further, it was speculated as Vivo NEX S2. (Source- Stuffdigest.com)
