Vivo Nex S, Nex A India Launch Set For July 19

Vivo’s Nex smartphones are all set to be launched in India. The two smartphones named Nex S and Nex A is expected to debut in the Indian markets on 19^th of July. The company has sent a ‘Block your Date’ invite to the media to create awareness about this development. Both the smartphones were unveiled in China with a pop-up selfie camera and is currently available for sale in the Chinese market.

Due to the pop-up camera, the smartphone comes with a top-end 91.24 percent screen-to-body ratio. The camera system elevates from the smartphone’s body using a spring-loaded motor. The smartphones feature a Jovi AI assistant. The smartphones come with an inbuilt storage of 256GB.

The invite confirms that Vivo will expand its Nex brand in India. The company has, however, not confirmed the details about the pricing of the models that it intends to launch in India.

If we compare with the prices in the Chinese market, the Vivo Nex A comes at a price of CNY 3,898 which roughly converts to Rs. 40,400. The Nex A offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage while the Vivo Nex S offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and is available in China for CNY 4,498 which is approximately Rs. 47,000. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant of the Nex S is priced at CNY 4,998 which converts to Rs. 52,000. The smartphones come in two colour options namely Black and Red. However, the 256GB storage variant of the smartphone comes in Black colour option only.

The key feature of both Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex A is its pop-up camera system that packs an 8-megapixel image sensor. The smartphones feature a 6.59-inch full-HD+ screen with resolution of 1080×2316 pixels. Its Super AMOLED display comes with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9. It runs FuntouchOS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.

Both the Vivo Nex models have a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel IMX363 primary sensor and four-axis OIS and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The smartphones enable seamless connectivity with options such as 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB 2.0 port. The smartphones are powered by a 4000mAh battery.

There isn’t much that separates the Nex S from the Nex A. The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo Nex S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, complemented with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage options. Its handset comes with the specification –  162x77x7.98mm. The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo Nex A also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 128GB of onboard storage.
