The Chinese giant is on a smartphone launching spree across multiple countries. In India, the company launched its new X50 series last month, whereas the Vivo S7 5G was unveiled in China in the first week of August. Today, Vivo launched the new Y1s with 2 GB RAM & 32 GB storage in the Cambodian market. The company focused on the long battery life coupled with a bigger screen on this entry-level smartphone.
Vivo Y1s: Key specs and features
BBK Electronics’ sub-brand Vivo, introduced the new Vivo Y1s with a Halo FullView waterdrop notch screen with a 6.22” HD+ panel. The resolution offered by Vivo is 720*1520 pixels. The smartphone will come in a single variant with a 2+32 GB combination powered by MediaTek’s entry-level Helio P35 chip. However, the smartphone will have a memory card slot for storage expansion.
Vivo Y1s will come with a 4,030 mAh battery and Android 10 out-of-the-box. It will run with a custom FunTouch OS 10.5 on top. Coming to the cameras, the smartphone will sport a single sensor on the front, as well as the rear. The primary shooter will be a 13 MP sensor with f/1.8, whereas the selfie snapper will be a 5 MP sensor.
The smartphone will come with dual-SIM 4G VoLTE connectivity, WiFi 802.11b/g/n (no 5 GHz band support), Bluetooth 5.0, headphone jack, and micro-USB for charging & data transfer. There will be no FP sensor on the smartphone. It will, however, feature the basic face unlock.
Vivo Y1: Pricing and availability
The smartphone, Vivo Y1s, will come in two color variants, Olive Black and Aurora Blue, with gradient design. Vivo launched these 2 variants in Cambodia at a price tag of $109 (roughly ₹8,200). However, there is no official announcement about its availability outside the country.
