vivo-iqooChinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched a gaming smartphone under its new sub-brand iQoo. Dubbed as Vivo iQoo, the phone comes powered with Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with a vapour cooling system for prolonged gaming sessions. Some of the other highlights of the device include triple rear camera set up, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Vivo iQoo Price and Availability

The Vivo iQoo is priced in China at CNY 2998 which roughly translates to Rs. 31,700 for the base variant i.e. 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The mid-variants with 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage is priced at CNY 3,298 which is approximately Rs. 35,000 and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage is priced at CNY 3,598 which is approximately Rs. 38,000. Whereas the top-end model with 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage is priced at CNY 4,298 which is roughly Rs. 45,500. The pre-orders for the phone have already started in China, while the sale will begin from tomorrow i.e. 6th March. There will be two colour options available for the interested buyers- Electric Blue and Lava Orange. There is no word yet on the global availability of the phone.

Vivo iQoo Features and Specifications

As mentioned earlier, the Vivo iQoo is targeted at game lovers and features Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC underneath which powers the device. It comes with vapour cooling system that can reduce up to 12-degree Celsius of temperature without affecting the overall performance. It provides 4D gaming experience with real-time scene recognition and it can intelligently match the vibrations with the scenes in the games. In addition, the phone features Multi-Turbo to further enhance the gaming performance.

In terms of RAM there are three options- 6GB, 8GB and 12GB, while in terms of storage there are two options- 128GB and 256GB. The device sports 6.41-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2340 pixel screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into 91.7 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The display comes along with a waterdrop-style notch at the top that houses the selfie camera. It runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box with Funtouch OS 9 on top and is fueled by 4,000mAh capacity battery that supports Vivo’s Super Flash Charge technology which can charge the phone up to 50 percent in 15 minutes as claimed by the company.

For the camera buffs, there’s a vertically stacked triple camera module placed on the back which comprises of a 13-megapixel Sony IMX263 sensor + 12-megapixel sensor with an f/1.79 aperture + 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front hosts a 12-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

In terms of dimensions, the Vivo iQoo measures 157.69 x 75.2 x 8.51 mm. For connectivity purpose, there’s dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C port. For security purpose, there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor.
