Thomson has launched its latest 4K smart TV in India. The 40-inch TV will be available with an affordable price tag of Rs. 20,999. The smart TV will be available for purchase on Flipkart from 16th March onwards. There will be a dedicated Thomson TV page on Flipkart. The page would say that the customer can purchase the 4K smart TV for just Rs. 20,000. What’s more, users can get an additional 5 % discount on the TV by using an Axis Bank credit card.

The latest TV by Thomson comes preloaded with Youtube, a video streaming app that Google owns. The TV also comes loaded with Netflix and Amazon Prime video apps. Using the official Youtube app, users can play the 4K videos on their official YouTube app. The TV sports a 40-inch 4K display, which operates at a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The TV offers 550 nits of brightness. The TV will also pack in an active HDR10 and 20W audio output.

As for its connectivity, the LED TV comes with a total of three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and has a 60Hz standard refresh rate. The Thomson UD9 Smart TV comes with the outdated Android 7.1 operating system. The TV support videocasting through Miracast. The LED TV Supports a total of 18+ local languages, including Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and more, as per the company.

Thomson has so far launched three TVs under the Thomson UD9 4K smart TV series in India. This includes a 43-inch, a 50-inch, a 55-inch TV. The 40-inch UD9 is the fourth one in the series.

All the TVs in the series can be purchased through e-commerce marketplace, Flipkart. The top-end variant of the UD9 retails with a price tag of Rs 37,999. Towards the end of 2018, Thomson had announced three smart televisions in India including a 43-inch, a 40-inch, and a 32-inch 4K UHD HDR TV.
