Indians seems to have varied preferences when it comes to selecting a camera. Some tend to be too brand conscious while others take into consideration the ‘pixel’ factor. However, no matter what the preferences are, the camera market in India is currently witnessing a tremendous bloom.

To find out what camera brand Indian’s prefer the most and why, the Logicserve Group conducted a poll at Sony emerged as the most popular brand with 1193 votes out of the total 1911 votes, making up to 62.21 % of the entire share. Next to follow was Nikon with 21.12 % of the votes. Canon seemed to be well behind at just 8.63 % followed by Samsung with 2.04 %.

58 % of the total voters confessed that pixels was a deciding factor in choosing a camera, while 22 % opted for the one with a good lens. However, only a 14 % of the total participants believed that the battery did make a difference.

When it comes to sharing photographs online, a whopping 81.57 prefer Facebook, which is quite predictable. Picasa emerged as the second most sought after photo sharing platform with 11.84 % votes. At 5.26 %, Instagram was the next to follow. Whatsapp turned out to be the least popular photo sharing platform with just 1.33 % of the total votes.

The poll concluded that Indians seem to be brand centric when it comes to choosing a camera, with pixels being the strongest deciding factor and Facebook as the most sought after online file-sharing platform.
