Vivo’s selfie-centric smartphone V7 was launched back in November. It was introduced with a price tag of Rs 18,990. But now in time for New Year, the company has decided to please the fans with a price cut of Rs 3,000. This brings down the price of the smartphone to Rs 16,990. Vivo has also announced that will no more be Flipkart exclusive and now can be bought from Amazon. The Vivo V7 comes in Matte Black Champagne Gold and the recently introduced Energetic Blue.
The V7 is essentially a watered down V7+, which was the company’s first offering to boast a minimum bezel design in India. The V7 follows its footsteps and sports a similar design characteristic but sports a relatively compact 5.7-inch screen. This tall 18:9 2.5D curved IPS LCD display packs in 1440 x 720 pixels. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 protection and has 83.6% screen-to-body ratio.
It is powered by Qualcomm’s budget chipset Snapdragon 450, which hosts an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz based on 14nm architecture coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 4 GB RAM coupled with 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via the dedicated microSD slot.
On the photography front, it wears the same lenses as the Vivo V7+. You get a 16 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, OmniVision OV16880 sensor, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), and LED flash. The front boasts a massive 24 MP shooter with an LED flash armed with beautification modes. It also powered the face unlock feature on the phone.
The Vivo V7 runs on Funtouch OS 3.2 on top of Android Nougat 7.1.2 out of the box and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.
