The Clock Shows 10:10. There is something to it for sure.

Ever wondered why clocks on display in a clock store show 10:10 no matter what time of the day it is? That’s true. Just hop into a clock store nearby and check it out yourself. But, why only 10:10 when the clocks can easily be set to some other time? The concept has numerous legends surrounding it. Though not all seem to be true, a few do make a lot of sense. Listed below are some of them.

WatchJust imagine a huge round clock hung on the wall showing 10:10. What do you see? Doesn’t it resemble a smiling face? Many clock store owners believe that positioning the hands of the clock in such a manner is responsible for producing positive vibes across the store which further helps in increasing sales. As superstitious as it may sound, this reason has greatly benefited a good number of clock store owners.

According to experts who love to stress their brain a bit too much are of the opinion that clock makers usually prefer having their logo right under the number ’12’. So, placing one hand on 10 and the other on 2 creates a frame around the logo thereby making it look more appealing.

Here is another good one. Some believe that setting up the clock to 10:10 looks a lot symmetrical and therefore is perfect for advertising purposes. It clearly displays the minute details of the clock as compared to placing the hands on another number.

Finally, this one seems to be a bit off track but is widely accepted. According to a legend, Abraham Lincoln died at 10:10 pm, and this influenced many clock store owners to set the time to 10:10. But, according to authentic sources, Lincoln was actually shot at 10:15 at night and died the following morning.

There are other theories as well as to why the clocks are set that way. Listing them all down is definitely not possible. So, no matter what the actual and the most precise theory seem to be, it surely does have a starting point.
