Tesla, best known its electric cars and solar-based electricity solutions has unveiled a powerbank for mobile phones. After showcasing the latest electric sports car christened as Roadster and an electric Semi truck, the company unveiled a mobile phone powerbank. This marks Tesla’s entry into smartphone accessory industry. The Tesla power bank is compatible with the latest iPhone and countless Android smartphones in the market. The devices and is priced at $45, which roughly translates to Rs 3,000.
The Tesla powerbank comes in retail box. In terms of design, it resembles Tesla’s supercharger monument at the Tesla Design Studio. It flaunts a compact design and measures 108 x 30.5 x 23.3 mm. Available in black, the powerbank flaunts Tesla engraving in red. It features a detachable micro USB cable and an apple supported lightning cable on either side.
The Tesla powerbank has a 3,350 mAh battery capacity. The company claims that it uses the same technology that goes into Tesla’s electric cars. It is equipped with high-efficiency circuitry to deliver maximum battery capacity. The Tesla powerbank is available only in US as of now and can be ordered from the company’s official website.
