The Chineses tech giant has unveiled two smartphones for the Indian market dubbed as Spark 8 Pro and Spark Go 2022. The Tecno Spark 8 Pro will be launched under the brand’s Tecno 8 lineup under which there are various 8 and 8T variants. The Spark Go lineup was debuted last year and the 2022 variant will be next in line with it. The Spark Go 2021 was launched last year in July.

The Spark Go lineup is the brand’s attempt to introduce users to a smartphone with decent specs at the entry-level price point; the device runs on Android’s Go edition. Tecno Spark 8 Pro sit on the top of the brand’s Spark 8 lineup.

Tecno Spark 8 Pro & Spark Go 2022: Key specs & features

The elder sibling Tecno Spark 8 Pro features a big 6.8” LCD screen that will produce FHD+ resolution. The IPS panel have a punch-hole cutout for the front camera and it will be aligned to the top middle section. The power button come integrated with a fingerprint  sensor and the rear panel come with a dual-color panel with a stripe-design on the below part. The triple-camera module on the rear comes with a metallic finish.

Coming to the optical setup, the rear camera system house a primary 48MP sensor paired with an AI lens and a portrait shooter of 2-megapixel. On the front, the punch hole cutout house an 8MP sensor for selfies. At its core, the device sport a MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset which is built on an octa-core structure. The top variant come paired with 128GB of onboard storage and 6 gigs of RAM. There is also be a microSD card slot to further expand the storage.

The smartphone come with a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh and it supports fast charging up to 33W. Tecno Spark 8 Pro boots on HiOS 7.6 out of the box. The custom skin is based on the Android 11 platform. A few connectivity features are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm port. The device also come with onboard GPS.

Moving on to the Tecno Spark Go 2022, the device have a thicker bottom chin and the screen size here will be a tad smaller at 6.5”. The rear come with a dual-tone design and the fingerprint sensor come embedded on the rear, as well. The camera module is quite big and the vertical stripe design gives Spark Go 2022 a premium look.

For the optical setup, this entry-level smartphone comes with a dual-camera system. The primary sensor here is a 13-megapixel lens paired with an AI lens. The water drop notch on the front house an 8MP shooter. The details regarding its chipset aren’t yet announced, however, it is confirmed that it will be an octa-core SoC. The chipset will come paired with 2 gigs of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The whole package is backed up by a 5,000 mAh battery and the smartphone boots on Android 11 Go edition.

Pricing and availability

The elder sibling Tecno Spark 8 Pro is available in 4 color options; Turquoise Cyan, Interstellar Black, Komodo Beach, and Winsor Violet. Tecno is offering a total of 3 storage combinations, 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB. The 4/64GB variant is priced at ₹10,599. The more affordable Tecno Spark Go 2022 is available in two color options; Atlantic Blue and Turquoise Cyan. The single variant with 2GB+32GB combination is on sale at an affordable price tag of ₹7,499. The first sale has commenced through Amazon yesterday, i.e. January 4.
