The Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona proved to be a major event for mega electronic brand Sony. The company unveiled its latest tablet, Xperia Z4 at the convention with much enthusiasm.
The Z4 sports a 10.1” screen that boasts of only the best in display technology; the tablet comes with Sony’s X-Reality™ technology that reduces noise to give a sharper picture, a 2K display of 2560×1600 resolution, and IPS technology that makes viewing from any angle and even in low light situations a brilliant experience.
If that isn’t enough, the Z4 makes use of TRILUMINOS display with Live Colour LED technology, which makes every colour as vivid and natural as it could get. The 6.1mm thick (or shall we say, extremely thin?) tablet is the thinnest in its class and at 389g, also one of the lightest. The tab’s ergonomics have been carefully designed for one hand use.
As far as specs are concerned, users are in for a Sony treat with a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 64-bit Octa Core processor that promises to be about 50% faster than its predecessors which makes surfing the web, streaming videos, running multiple apps simultaneously a breeze. Other specs include a 3GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal memory which can be supplemented by 128GB external memory card slot. The Adreno 430 serves as the tablet’s GPU. Xperia Z4 packs in a 6000 mAh battery that according to Sony has a video playback of up to 17 hours. The tablet operates the latest Android iteration- the Lollipop. In terms of connectivity, it will support 4G in some markets and the Wi-Fi brags of being much faster than its previous versions.
When Sony says that the Z4 is durable, it is not kidding. The tab has been given an IP65/IP68 rating which means that it is both dustproof and waterproof. What it means for the user is that, if you wish to take underwater shots from the tablet of you and your buddy swimming in the pool, go ahead because the Sony tab’s taken care of all that needs to be worried about. Got dust on the tab? No problem, just rinse it off under a tap. The scratch-resistant glass also makes the tab a robust device.
Living up to Sony’s reputation as an entertainment facilitator, the Z4 high resolution audio enhancer makes certain that the user hears every sound only with the utmost possible clarity, cancelling out any external noise that comes in. The Sony 3D Surround Sound technology is another great feature of this tab. On the pictures and video taking front, the tab includes an 8.1MP primary camera with Exmor RS™ that along with the Superior Auto mode will give the user the best possible picture for the most minimum effort. The 5.1MP front camera is a 25mm wide-angle lens which will surely make video calling and taking selfies/groupies a joy.
With the tablet industry growing by leaps and bounds, the Z4 is clearly going to be a gadget to look forward to come June.
