The phone is single SIM unlike Xperia Z3 and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, which is a step up from what Xperia Z3 Compact had recieved. Powered by 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor SoC with Adreno 330 GPU for graphics, the phone fits a massive 2GB RAM. Camera & Sensors

The camera for Sony Xperia A4 is exactly the same as Xperia Z3, which is a massive 20.7 MP primary camera (on the rear side). Besides, the camera has Sony Exmore RS image sensor and LED features. The camera not only lets you click sharp, crisp and bright pictures but also lets you shoot supreme quality video with 1080 Pixels resolution. For the selfie lovers out there, Sony has packed in a 2.2 MP front camera, which lets you click decent pictures as well as serve handy for video conferencing and video calling.

This new handset is very close to its previous release – The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. And due to Sony’s secretive behaviour about their new launch, it’s hard to tell whether this will become a successor of Xperia Z3 Compact or will just be another local player in the Japanese market.

While the Sony Xperia A4 is available in Japan for preorder and the shipping will begin in the middle of June 2015, there’s no word yet about the price of this very close version of Xperia Z3.
