India is a price conscious market, and the Japanese electronics giant slowly acknowledging the fact. After releasing no significant budget smartphones for a few quarters, Sony has now introduced Xperia R1 and R1 Plus in India. With the duo, Sony Xperia series promises of attractive design at an affordable price. The company claims that these phones will be manufactured in India.
The Xperia R1 and R1 Plus are based on Sony’s ‘omnibalance’ design language that revolves around symmetry. Both these phones feature a 5.2-inch HD display. In the camera department, you get a 13 MP Autofocus camera with Exmor sensor. The camera offers ISO capability up to 3200. It enables users to take better low light photos. For selfie buffs, there’s an 8 MP front camera with 76-degree wide angle lens.
The Xperia R1 line-up is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon1 430 chipset. The Xperia R1 Plus packs 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The Xperia R1 comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The phone also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot.
The R1 Plus and R1 are dual SIM (4G) smartphones. The phone will be available across all Sony Center and major mobile stores in India. You can also pick one from Amazon or Flipkart. The pre-orders are live and you can book the Xperia R1 for Rs 13,000 and R1 Plus for Rs 15,000.
