Smartron has launched its t.phone P in the country . It is a Hyderabad based start-up founded by Mahesh Lingareddy. The company claims that its phones are made in India from the ground up. Smartron is best known for its ‘SRT’ phone named after cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. Now, the company has collaborated with ace golfer Anirban Lahiri to endorse the brand. The Smartron t.phone P is aggressively priced at Rs 7,999 and will lock horns against smartphones from Xiaomi and Lenovo. It comes in Black and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting from January 17.
Although it is a budget oriented handset, it comes with a metal body and a fingerprint sensor at the back. It sports a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 chipset. It bears in 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with via the hybrid slot.
On the optics front, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) and LED Flash. There is a 5 MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture and also gets LED flash support.
It features Smartron’s tcloud, tcare, tstore and tronX’s assistive and predictive AI. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB OTG. The Smartron t.phone P runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system. The highlight is its massive 5000 mAh battery under the hood.
