Sgnl wants to change the way we speak on a cellular call. It wants to replace the conventional earpiece with your fingertip. Sgnl is only a strap, so you need to pair it with your existing smartwatch. Most classic and smartwatches including Apple Watch, Samsung Gear, and Pebble work well with this gadget.

After setting up the smartphone with companion app, you won’t have to take the smartphone out of your pocket to receive a call. The sound propagates through your finger to your ear. Your finger not only transmits the sound, but it also blocks out the background noises. That’s your noise-cancellation right there. The Sgnl strap also comes with a microphone so you don’t need any other accessory to communicate on a call.

The company claims that it transmits your call through vibrations. It does not emit ultrasonic nor electromagnetic waves, so it is said to be safe. The Sgnl has a 200 mAh rechargeable battery, which lasts up to 4 hours of continuous calling.

The strap is IP56 certified for water and dust resistance. The Sgnl is compatible with Android 4.4 or above iOS 9 or above. The product is yet to be cleared by regulatory authorities from world over. The company has stated that it is planning to apply for CE (Europe), FCC (USA), IC (Canada), KC (Korea) and SRRC (China) Certification soon.
