Samsung W2019 Luxury Flip Phone with Dual AMOLED Displays Goes Official in China

Tech giant Samsung is known to launch luxury flip phone in China every year. Last year, the company launched W2018 and now it has launched the 2019 version of the same dubbed as W2019. The highlight of the device is its flip form factor i.e. it has an AMOLED display on the inside as well as on the outside so that it can be used even without having to open the flap. Opening the device will reveal the second display which is of the same size and resolution as the one on the outside. The phone is made using anodised Aluminium and glass and sports a diamond-cut design. Samsung is yet to confirm the pricing details of the smartphone, but it will be exclusive to China is expected to come with price tag of CNY 10,000 which is roughly Rs. 104,182. There will be two colour options available for the interested buyers- Silver and Gold.

The Samsung W2019 features two 4.2-inch full-HD Super AMOLED displays on either side of the flip panel with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the phone is powered by

Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB of RAM. There are two options in terms of internal storage- 128GB and 256GB. There is also an option to expand the storage further up to 512GB by means of a microSD card. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based custom skin out of the box and is fueled by a 3070mAh battery. The phone features a Bixby button on the side along with a fingerprint scanner.

In the camera department, there is a dual rear camera set up on the back which is similar to the Galaxy S9+ and comprises of a 12MP primary sensor with dual aperture (f/1.5-f/2.4) + a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. On the front, there’s an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
