Samsung has quietly launched a couple of tablets dubbed as Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. The S7 FE tablet will be next in line with the premium S7 series that was revealed and launched by the South Korean tech giant last year. Tab A7 Lite will be an affordable device that will sport a compact design language.

The mid-range offering, Galaxy Tab S7 FE, will come loaded with the features that its elder siblings, Tab S7 and Tab S7+, sported, but at a much lower price tag. This 5G-equipped SoC will be housed in a 12.4” tablet alongside a chunkier battery and S-pen functionality. Whereas the Tab A7 Lite comes in a smaller 8.7” screen size with onboard storage of 64GB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE: Key specs & features

The QHD resolution on Galaxy Tab S7 FE’s 12.4” TFT panel will allow users to draw and take notes smoothly, all thanks to the included S-pen. The screen will produce 2,560*1,600 pixels and the side bezels will house a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera is an 8MP sensor that will also support autofocus.

Going by the PR from Samsung, there is no mention of the chipsets used to power these tablets. However, there are a few reports that suggest Samsung is using a Snapdragon 750G mobile SoC. There will be two storage variants, 4/64GB and 6/128GB. The brand will launch the variants based on the market. On the software front, Galaxy Tab S7 FE will boot Android 11 with OneUI 3.1 on the top.

Samsung has decided to sell the charger separately for this tablet. The battery capacity will be 10,090 mAh and it will support fast charging up to 45W. A few connectivity options users will get are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 5G connectivity, USB 3.2 Gen-1 Type-C port, GPS, Dolby Atmos, AKG stereo speaker setup, and a dedicated microSD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite: Key specs & features

The smaller 8.7” TFT display on Galaxy A7 Lite will produce HD resolution of 1,340*800 pixels. The primary camera on the rear will be an 8-megapixel sensor with AF support whereas the front will have a 2MP selfie snapper.

There is no official announcement regarding the chipset used on the A7 Lite either. If we are to believe a few reports that were doing the rounds earlier, Samsung will use MediaTek’s Helio P22T SoC. There will be two variants of A7 Lite as well, 3/32GB and 4/64GB. The storage combination will be available based on the market.

The battery capacity on this affordable tablet will be just 5,100 mAh and it will charge at just 15W. The charger will be sold separately with Tab A7 Lite, as well. Like the Tab S7 FE, it will also boot on Android 11 with OneUI 3.1 on the top. Connectivity features are LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB type-C, Dolby Atmos supported stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio port.

Pricing & availability

Though there is no information regarding the availability of these tablets, Galaxy Tab S7 FE will be available in four mystic shades, Green, Pink, Black, and Silver. The more affordable Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will come in silver and gray color options. The South Korean tech giant will also be selling a few accessories such as Book Cover Keyboard and Book Cover for the mid-range S7 FE whereas the A7 Lite will only have Clear Cover and Book Cover.
