Samsung Reported to Launch Affordable Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in January’14by Sushant Bhosale December 10, 2013 0 comments
Samsung was recently reported to launch Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Galaxy Grand Lite, the budget variants of its popular Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Grand devices respectively. Now the South Korean OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is reported to launch affordable variant of its popular tablet Galaxy Tab 3. The device is rumoured to be named as Galaxy Tab 3 Lite and carries model number SM-T11. It might be unveiled at Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas next year.
Currently the Galaxy Tab 3 range consists of Tab 3 211, Tab 3 310 and Tab 3 311. The new device is stated to be available in 3G as well as WiFi variant and might come with a price tag of €100 (approx. $135 and Rs. 8500/-). If the pricing is believed to be true, then this will become one of the cheapest tablets ever of the company.
The 7-inch tablet’s Creamy White Wi-Fi version is supposed to be launched around 2nd week of January’14 whereas the Ebony Black version will be launched around 3rd week. The White variant of 3G will be available by 3rd week and the Black variant will be available by end of the month.
No other details especially with regards to the specifications are available as of now. However being a Lite device, there won’t be much of a power in terms of hardware. The only reason to launch such Lite devices is to cover all segments of the market in terms of price range.
Obviously, the above information is not confirmed and the exact details will be known only when Samsung makes any official announcement regarding the said device. However, the move to launch the Lite variants of its popular devices seems to be in line with the company’s next year’s agenda of focusing on low end devices.
