When tech geeks decide to meet, they meet in style. When they decide to show- off, they show-off in style… and this is exactly what is expected out of the annual Consumer Electronics Show to be held in the ‘City of Lights’, Las Vegas, from 6th– 8th January.

If you are waiting with bated breath to see what the tech biggies like Samsung, LG, Intel, Ford, Sony, Fitbit, etc. have in store for you at this tech fest, then you are in for an early treat; although the new product launches are not officially expected before the 6th, some brands have gone ahead and made announcements regarding their new products. One of the most popular brands that showcased their new products was Samsung. Read on to find out what the tech giant brought to the show on the 5th.

Samsung’s Notebook 9

Trust the Korean brand to keep up with the times and produce amazing products; Samsung launched a new range of Notebook 9 laptops that could very well be the target of “thin” jokes! The 13.3” variant of Notebook 9 weighs only 0.84 kg, while the 15” variant comes at a relatively higher 1.29kg. Sporting Windows 10, the battery life of the Notebook 9 is questionable as it promises only about 4 hours of life on a full charge of the 15” variant. The extremely sleek laptops will be equipped with the robust Core i7 CPU, along with 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of SSD storage on the 15” Notebook 9 and 128 GB on the 13” laptop. Details on its availability and pricing have not been revealed yet.

Curves are in. Don’t believe us? Well then, let Samsung’s range of 2nd gen SUHD TV sets show you just how much TV lovers love the curve! Powered by Tizen, Samsung’s range of curve TVs is sleeker than ever, and the new ones will support HDR for enhanced picture quality. The CES event saw the launch of the new range of TVs, which incorporate an improved version of quantum dot technology, making them more than suitable in both, dark and well-lit rooms. Samsung’s Smart Remote will save you the trouble of setting up your gaming console, cable box, etc. as it automatically detects any attached device. The new Smart Hub gives you access to over 300 PlayStation games over the internet.

Samsung’s Family Hub Refrigerator

Samsung apparently combined two of its popular product categories- Smartphone and refrigerator- to come up with this huge machine.

The most amusing and interesting feature of this Smart fridge is the inclusion of an app by MasterCard that allows you to place an order for groceries right from the 21.5 cm touch screen! This is not it…imagine that you are working in the kitchen while your favourite TV show plays on your Samsung Smart TV. Once synced, you can get the screen to mirror whatever’s playing on the TV! There will never be a dull moment in the kitchen anymore! Yay!

Samsung’s Galaxy TabPro S

Sporting the latest Windows 10 platform, this tab comes with a detachable keyboard and stylus support not quite unlike the Microsoft Surface tablets. The 12” screen supports a 2160 x 1440p display resolution with great viewing angles. According to Samsung, the power efficient display will allow for a battery life of about 10.5 hours! It will be powered by an Intel Core M processor, come with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.

Our geeks may not choose gambling as their sin in ‘Sin City’, but they will surely leave Las Vegas with fond memories of how they were enticed and enamoured by the sinful gadgets and devices on display at the CES 2016!
