The Samsung loyalists are in for a surprise. At a recent Samsung launch, 4 new smartphone models were introduced viz. Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 along with Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5. Though not quite affordably priced at Rs. 19,300 and Rs. 23,000 for Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 respectively, these phones have been quite adapted to meet the current consumer trends.
Making them quite special are their screen specifications and front cameras. Quite similar in size and design, the points on which they differ include the screen size, camera, battery and size of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy E5 is the smaller one with 5 inch screen, 8 MP camera, 2400 mAh battery and RAM capacity at 1.5GB. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy E7 is equipped with 5.5 inch screen, rear camera at 13 megapixel, 2GB RAM and an extremely powerful battery at 2950 mAh. The other parameters that remain same are 16GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage of up to 64 GB through a micro SD card along with 1.2GHz quad core processor and screen resolution of 720×1280. Both phones support connectivity through A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n.
Making both the phones more intuitive is the TouchWiz interface which of course, is very much trendy and cool. Though loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat, customers would surely wait for an upgrade to 5.0 Lollipop soon, if they decide to go for any of them.
Size wise and hold wise, the E5 does seem to be the preferable model while the camera results are stated to be equally on par. Each model is available in 3 different colour variants. Samsung Galaxy E5 is available in white, black and brown while Galaxy E7 is offered in white, black and blue.
The E5 and E7 model are fitted with High Definition (HD) sAMOLED Screen which promise a superlative viewing experience. Customers can look forward to nearly 100 percent contrast and better colour reproduction especially when watching video content or reading books online.
For those who love taking selfies, a voice command or gesture using the palms is all it takes to click that perfect selfie. Switch over to the 120⁰ Selfie Mode in a 5 MP front camera and get going to click some of the best selfies ever taken.
With an extremely slim and sleek body at 73 mm, each model promises a great user experience when in use and a comfort fit when held even for long hours.
Customers need to make note that the Samsung Galaxy E7 does not offer dual SIM and LTE support while making the decision to go ahead with this model.
Will Samsung Galaxy E5 and E7 grab some of the existing market share of similar devices at nearly same prices as offered by Microsoft, LG, Oppo, Sony, HTC is yet to be ascertained. For hands on experience of these phones, customers will have to wait some time more till the end of January for that’s when they are going to be made available
