The A-series of the Samsung smartphones has made its first reveal of 2021 for the Indian market. The Galaxy A12 will feature a waterdrop notch and the rear matte finish will house a quad-camera array.

A few highlights:

  • The Galaxy A12 is launched in a mid-range segment in India.
  • On the rear, the smartphone features a 48MP quad-camera setup.
  • The display panel is 6.5” with HD+ resolution.

The display will offer an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the smartphone will also support fast-charging. The onboard storage will be 128GB and for optics, Samsung is offering a quad-camera module on the textured back.

 

Samsung Galaxy A12: Key specs & features

The IPS panel of the Samsung Galaxy A12 will produce an HD+ resolution of 720*1600 pixels. The panel with 20:9 aspect ratio is 6.5” in size with a waterdrop notch which Samsung calls an Infinity-V display. The power button has an integrated fingerprint scanner.

At its core, Samsung Galaxy A12 sports MediaTek Helio P35 SoC paired with 4 gigs of RAM and two storage options, i.e., 64GB & 128GB. The storage can be further expanded using a microSD card slot. Moving on to the optics, the quad-camera module will house a primary 48MP sensor paired with an ultrawide 5MP camera that offers a 123° view. There will also be a couple of 2MP depth and macro sensors. The Infinity-V panel houses an 8MP sensor for selfies and video conferences.

On the software front, Samsung Galaxy A12 will boot on Android 10 out of the box with Samsung’s OneUI 2.5 on the top. With 15W fast-charging support, the package draws its power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery. Other connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm audio port, and a USB Type-C port.

Pricing & availability

Both the variants of the Samsung Galaxy A12 with 64GB storage and 128GB storage will be available at a retail price of ₹12,999 and ₹13,999, respectively. The device will go on sale today, i.e., Feb 17, through all the major e-commerce platforms including Samsung’s e-store.

In some introductory offers, the customers with Jio SIM will be eligible for some amazing benefits of up to ₹7,000. It will be divided into some vouchers worth ₹4,000 and on a ₹349 recharge, a ₹3,000 cashback will be offered. There is also something for Vodafone-Idea customers, they will get double the benefits on ₹299 recharge for up to 3 times.
