
Samsung Introduced Budget-Friendly Galaxy A02s And Galaxy A12 In Europe
The A-series is Samsung’s budget lineup and two new smartphones, Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s are recently made public under the series. Among the two, Galaxy A12 will be the replacement for last year’s Galaxy A11 whereas the Galaxy A01 that was introduced in December ’19 will be replaced by Galaxy A02s.
The design language on the Galaxy A12 has gone through a significant overhaul and the 48MP quad-camera housing is now in more of a squarish layout. The battery capacity on both smartphones is the same at 5,000 mAh. Samsung Galaxy A02s will sport a triple-camera array.
Samsung Galaxy A12: Key specs & features
With a waterdrop notch that Samsung calls Infinity-V design, the Galaxy A12 sports a 6.5” display with HD+ resolution. There are not many details out yet, however, at its core, the smartphone is running a 2.3 GHz + 1.8 GHz octa-core chipset. If we are to believe the Geekbench spotting, Galaxy A12 might come with a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. On the RAM and storage front, Samsung is offering it in multiple options. There will be 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB variants paired with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of internal storage. Users will also get a dedicated microSD card slot for extra storage.
Coming to the optics, Galaxy A12 offers a quad-camera design on the polycarbonate rear panel. The primary sensor will be a 48MP paired with a 5MP wide-angle lens. The camera module will also house dual 2MP depth and macro sensors. The Infinity-V panel will house an 8MP shooter.
Digging a bit deeper, the smartphone will boot on Android 10 and Samsung Knox is also fully supported. With fast charging support up to just 15W, Galaxy A12 sports a big 5,000-mAh battery. The smartphone will offer a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power button and users will also get a 3.5mm audio port. Other connectivity features are Wi-Fi, dual-4G support, GPS, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C.
Samsung Galaxy A02s: Key specs & features
Like its elder brother, Galaxy A02s will also feature a 6.5” Infinity-V panel with HD+ resolution. However, the selfie snapper is toned down at 5MP. The rear panel is finished in plastic and the triple-camera setup comes with a rectangular design. The primary camera will be a 13MP one with dual 2MP depth and macro sensors.
As per older reports, this device will sport a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC. It’s an octa-core chipset from Qualcomm. There will be a single variant with a 3/32GB storage combination. Users will also get a dedicated microSD card slot. There will be no fingerprint scanner here on offer.
Other connectivity features are dual-4G VoLTE, micro USB port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio port. Samsung Galaxy A02s will boot on Android 10 and the battery size will be 5,000 mAh.
Pricing and availability
There will be 4 color options for the Samsung Galaxy A12, Black, White, Red, and Blue. It will start at €179 (~₹17,800 including taxes). On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A02s will be only available in Black and White color options. It will retail at a price tag of €149 (~₹13,100 including taxes). In the European market, the Galaxy A12 will go on sale in January next year, whereas the Galaxy A02s will be available in February. There are no details regarding foreign availability.
