samsung-galaxy-On8South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the launch of its new budget offering for Indian market dubbed as Galaxy On8. The phone will be exclusively sold via eCommerce giant and Samsung’s official online store, just like the other ‘Galaxy On’ series devices. The highlight of the phone is its that it comes pre-loaded with Samsung Mall that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to let users directly shop for a desired product on e-commerce platforms just by clicking a picture of it through the phone’s camera. Besides, the phone also features Chat Over Video feature which enables users to enjoy uninterrupted video viewing experience while chatting.

With Galaxy On8, we have emphasized more on the camera, which is one of the most used features by millennials today,” said Sandeep Singh Arora, Vice President, Online Business at Samsung India while commenting on the launch of Galaxy On8.

The Galaxy On8 is priced in India at Rs. 16,990. As part of the introductory offer, the users can avail no cost EMI as well as special data offers. There will be two color options available for the users- Black and Blue.

Samsung Galaxy On8 Features and Specifications:

The Galaxy On8 sports a 6-inch HD+ super AMOLED Infinity display with 720×1480 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box with Samsung Experience UX on top. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. All of this is backed by a 3,500mAh battery.

In terms of optics, you’ll find a vertically stacked dual camera set up on the rear which consists of 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. The rear camera supports several features such as Background Blur Shape, Portrait Dolly, Portrait Backdrop, and it also has LED flash support. It is backed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that helps users to click pictures in different scenarios. The front hosts a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture for selfies and video calls.
